Ultimate Playroom

Collaboration with Hasbro

Programs Used: Unreal, Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop

SCAD has collaborated with Hasbro to research and develop digital environments to be used for future marketing content. My role on the team was lighting and look development. I contributed to the concept and ideation of the scene and the layout of the room. I am directly responsible for the lighting in the scene. I am also responsible for modelling of the coffee table, end table, television, cubby shelf, cubby bins, puzzle mat, hanging apron, recessed can lights, closet door, couch frame, and baseboard molding. Responsible for texturing of the white wood used on the furniture and trim, cork on the bulletin board, book covers, hanging apron, trampoline, and floor decal. Also responsible for most photographs in the picture frames.

Lighting

lightingGrid_02.jpg

The image to the left is a lighting grid I made over the layout of the room to ensure that the placement of all the lights in the room made sense and would practical to real life room. Each light is spaced out evenly in a grid system, so if the scale of the room changed, adjusting the lighting should be as simple as adding another row to accommodate.

All the lights are controlled by color temperature, and they also have and IES light profile on them to have a realistic falloff, especially when seen up against a wall.
