Last week we got out groups for this car commercial project and I will working with Abby Riegel and David Grzesik. I'm really excited about this group and for this project!! We are pitching our ideas to The Mill on Tuesday, 10/17/17. For our concept, we all agreed that we wanted to do something elegant and somewhat simple, we would rather create something that is well made and polished than take on too much and not be able to pull it off to the degree we would like. So we decided to do a Tesla commercial.
The first thing we did to start preparing for this project was go location scouting. We are somewhat limited on where and what we can shoot, so we wanted to decide on our location as soon as possible. Abby knew of this place that is an abandoned road so we went there first and it is perfect for our location. It is kind of a rundown area and this will allow the car to be the focus of the shot and no have the background be too distracting.
As far as the FX that we want to incorporate into this scene, we decided to go with lightning bolts and streaks to relate to the electric car aspect of the Tesla. Luckily for us, there is a section of the road at our location that has huge electrical towers stretching across and that will also help tie in the electricity back into our scene.
